M-kai arrangerar: Cosplaylajv

Thu Oct 1, 2009, 6:23 AM
  • Mood: Neutral
For people situated in Sweden:

All information + anmälning finns här;

Är detta ingenting för dig? Det gör inget, men sprid gärna ordet vidare!

Nearest book

Tue Sep 22, 2009, 4:13 PM
  • Mood: Neutral
  • Listening to: The Device has been Modified
  • Playing: The Legend of Zelda - The Windwaker
  • Drinking: Water
Rules:
* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence along with these instructions in a journal.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

"A larger man guided his steps; a repellent hulk whose blueish face seemed half eaten away by some unknown malady."

Taken from the commemorative edition of H.P. Lovecrafts Necronomicon, it's a huge-ass book, bound in leather and with gold inlay on the cover. Holy fucking shit is it awsome. The above sentence is from my so far favourite story by him, Herbert West - Reanimator.

Taken from =Skyrail because it's something of interest to me and I'd like to see what else other people get.

One weekend made of awesome.

Okay, so after an extra long weekend ( 4 days off in a row), I think I can conclude this might have been the best weekend of my young life.

Saw a lot of new things.

First Wednesday, I was too tired to go to school, so I slept in and met ~LuLuLucious in town for a cup of tea at our favourite gay café. We talked an we laughed, and it was a lot of fun.
Then, in the evening, I went to ~pyshe's place, for a movie night with her and a few of our classmates.

Over the course of the evening we saw:
Twilight
I've felt compelled to see this for some time, since everyone is talking about it. Now that I have, I can safely say that I'm never reading the books. This kind of vampire just isn't my thing. Though a nicely made movie, beautiful sceneries and all that...... it was just too awkward to actually be a good movie. I mean, sheesh. Not to mention slowpaced, if me and Bella (my classmate, not the character) hadn't inserted the Benny Hill theme at inappropriate times, I'd have fallen asleep.
It pains me to admit it, but I can actually see why people keep comparing Edward Cullen the vampire with my undead Edward Smith.

Haunted Forest
Do not watch this movie. It is absolutely horrible. It's so bad it's not even funny. Uwe Boll-bad.

Anastasia
An animated classic. Pretty animation and a decent story with decent songs. Very entertaining to watch in swedish, since Rasputin isn't Rasputing, but RaspIOOtin. XD

The whole thing ended in a sleepover, after an episode of medium and laughing our way through an X-files episode.

Thursday
After waking up, having breakfast, hanging out to talk for a while, I packed my shit and headed home, where I had just enough time to change clothes, pack my bag and eat a sandwich before heading off again. This time to :Lululucious:' place. We were having an anime marathon with tea, chips, chocolate and wine.

Over the course of the night, we watched:

Shigofumi
A series about a girl named Fumika and her magical talking staff, Kanaka. Together, they deliver something called Shigofumis, which are letters containing the last thoughts of a deceased person. When a person dies, they get to write one letter to send to whoever they want. As you can guess, this anime is made of nothing but [link] . We both cried so damned hard. Though it was sad, it was very well made and very much worth watching. If you ever get a chance, check this one out.

After watching the whole damned thing in a row, we both fell asleep, emotionally exhausted.

Friday
The marathon continued, now with the anime

Bounen no Xamdou/ Xam'd - Lost Memories
First of all; check this one out. I mean it. You really will not regret it.
I mean damn. I don't think I have ever seen a more well-animated series than this. I don't even know where to begin with explaining what it's about, so I'll simply say; find out for yourself.
Complex storyline, deep and interesting characters, over-the-top, but absolutely spectacular action sequences... the list just keeps on. From it's dramatic start, to it's shocking ending, this series is seriously made of awesome. It also features some of the more awesome transformation sequences I have ever seen. Can only be explained as [link] Body Horror

I'll say it again, check it out.

[link] <--- Opening

After crying in each other's arms because it had ended, we played

Silent Hill 2
I've played this game a few times already.
This is the best game ever produced in the history of mankind. So, if you haven't played it, you have to.

After scaring ourselves shitless, we went to sleep.

Saturday
Had a slow morning before going into town to meet yet another friend. We went to her place and discussed, well, everything that came to mind. Fun times, but I had to get going after dinner, to ~Yezzixa's place. Watched a chick flick with her little sister, then moved onto a more interesting zombie movie.

Splinter
Oh. Dear. God. This movie is downright disgusting. The zombies here are created through a parasitic fungi that causes you to sprout these black spikes all over, as well as breaking every damned bone in your body with a loud crack. Body Horror defined. Other than being absolutely disgusting, it wasn't half-bad. But I'm sure it had been a lot cooler as a comic.

Sunday consisted of some Dead Rising and Mulan before finally heading home, where my brand new Pokémon Platinum waited for me. I sat and played it for four hours straight. I only have three Pokémon so far. XD

And that would be, my weekend made of awesomeness.

Times are so insistent

  • Reading: World War Z
  • Watching: Dawn of the Dead (remake)
  • Drinking: Pucko
I feel like it's time to get this out.

Last year of school, the students are required to produce a project. The grade of this project weighs as much as a full-year course. It's important.

My project is
a comic.

It's huge, it's epic and has proven to be a tough challenge so far. (Do you have any idea how long a comic takes to make?)

And I won't say more than that. ;)

In other news, my RA has started to act up again. Not to mention like a shitload of side-effects from the meds I take, I won't even start on them here. It's really bothersome, but I'm trying as hard as I can to keep a positive outlook on everything. I can't really do much else.

Just bought tons of new games that I'm attempting to actually finish. But knowing me, I probably won't.

Forbidden Siren
Project Zero 3: The Tormented
Persona4

The first two, I'll never ever be able to finish, I scare waay to easily to actually be able to hold a controller while playing.
Though Persona4 has proven, so far, to actually be really good. Though it's very dialogue heavy, it makes up for it with charming characters, decent voice-actors and the role-playing aspect. Not to mention the fact that the game actually came with the soundtrack. Now there's a marketing idea that we can all enjoy.

Been spending a lot of time getting into comics as well. I've read a couple of book on how comics are made and constructed, makes them so much more interesting to read. Very recently read Watchmen, and SHAME ON YOU if you haven't seen the movie yet.

Stay tuned for pictures and sketches for the comic. Eventually, I'll finish the reference sheets for some of the main characters, so you'll get a chance to get to know them.

S'all for now. Laters.

Awesomness. Or not.

Starting up a few more cosplay projects soon:

Ichijo Mashiro (from the manga After School Nightmare) - Planned cosplay for Stockholm Japan Expo. Lots of plans for this one, I'm even going to have a Kureha with me.
Hunter (from Left4Dead) - I love these guys. I love zombies in general. This one will be easy to do, but so damned awesome to be. Moar bloody cosplays plz.
GLaDOS (from Portal) - My bigass awesome project of doom. This one is going to be huge, but I'm going to make it work.
Amano group - Silly idea that a friend and me got. Imagine a whole group of people who cosplay Amano's interpretations of the Final Fantasy characters. General swooshiness.

I'm also working on a huge project right now. I'm not going to say much more than that. You'll see more of it when I've gotten further on it.
